Škoda Auto has become a partner for Czech participation at the World Exhibition EXPO 2005 Aichi

Prague - Vladimír Darjanin, Commissioner General for Czech participation at EXPO 2005 Aichi and Vratislav Kulhánek, Chairman of the Board of Škoda Auto today signed an agreement on mutual co-operation. The subject of the agreement is the reciprocal co-operation of the parties to the agreement in the realisation of the project EXPO 2005 Aichi.

Škoda Auto will provide, free of charge, five vehicles, including Škoda Superbs, for the use of the Office of the Commissioner General for EXPO 2005 Aichi.

The Office of the Commissioner General undertakes to provide Škoda Auto the right to use the title „official car of Czech participation at EXPO 2005 Aichi“ in Czech and international versions. The Škoda Superb cars will also be used for representation requirements as part of the Czech national day at EXPO 2005 Aichi.

On signing the agreement the Chairman of the Board of Škoda Auto, Vratislav Kulhánek, commented: "We are pleased that we are able to participate in the preparation of such a prestigious and interesting event as the presentation of the Czech Republic and its culture at the World Exhibition in Japan, the second most developed economy in the world."

"The World Exhibition provides an opportunity to present the Czech Republic, its culture, ingenuity and successes. I therefore consider it absolutely natural that the Office of the Commissioner General should use Škoda vehicles in preparations for the World Exhibition as Škoda is a brand that so excellently represents the Czech Republic abroad," stated Vladimír Darjanin, Commissioner General of Czech participation at EXPO 2005 Aichi. "I am therefore very pleased that we have been able to sign an agreement on mutual co-operation today“, added Vladimír Darjanin.

EXPO 2005 Aichi

The World Exhibition Expo 2005 Aichi, Japan will last for 185 days, from 25th March to 25th September 2005. It will take place in the Japanese Prefecture of Aichi, where an exhibition area of 173 hectares will spring up close to the town of Nagoya. The central theme of the World Exhibition EXPO 2005 Aichi is „the wisdom of nature".
In November 2001 the Czech government accepted the official invitation from the Japanese for participation at the World Exhibition 2005 Aichi, Japan. On the 16th January 2002 Vladimír Darjanin was appointed by the Czech government as Commissioner General for Czech participation at Expo 2005 Aichi.
