Czech general commissioner Vladimír Darjanin visits partner town OtowaPrague - Mr. Vladimír Darjanin, General Commissioner of the Czech Republic at EXPO 2005, has visited the twin town of Otowa, with which Czech Republic cooperates within the framework of the Aichi Hospitality project. He met the town’s mayor and members of the local authority, and visited the Tokai Rika car parts company. Darjanin also visited the local elementary school, the students of which prepared a typical Czech meal for him – goulash soup and dumplings.
Darjanin also discussed two supporting events of Czech Republic's participation at EXPO, which will take place in Otowa - Czech Music Week and Czech Graphic Art Week. In May, the local Windia Hall will host Czech soloists and chamber orchestras and Otowa will at the same time have the chance to see the travelling exhibition of Czech graphic art titled "Nature's Mirror".
The Aichi Hospitality project is part of a government programme supporting the relationship of Japan with foreign countries, in this case the relationship of 86 districts of the Aichi prefecture with EXPO 2005 participants. Towns of the Aichi prefecture offer their facilities in support of various activities which will bring EXPO 2005 right to their homes. The Aichi prefecture will also present itself to visitors of the Nagakute grounds with its own pavilion.
