Ing. Zdeněk Novák![]() 1st Deputy Minister of Culture Born 6 May 1958 Graduated in landscape gardening at the Institute of Agriculture, Brno, in 1982. Employment: 1983 -1990 Landscape Gardening Research Institute, Průhonice, specializing in the
cultivation and preservation of historical gardens and parks. 1990 -1993 Office for the Preservation of Historical Monuments, Brno, coordinator
of care for historical gardens and parks, protection of the cultural landscape. 1993-1995 Office for the Preservation of Historical Monuments, Brno, Director.
1995-1998 Deputy Minister of Culture of the Czech Republic for Cultural Heritage
and Churches. 1998 - dosud dosud First Deputy Minister of Culture Zdeněk Novák is an expert in the preservation of historical monuments, protection of cultural heritage, and history of gardening and landscaping. He has published several papers and lectures on these subjects. He is a member of the board of governors of the Academy of Fine Arts, Prague, a governor of the Janáček Academy of Music and Drama, Brno, the representative of the Czech Ministry of Culture at meetings with the Holy See and bilateral commission, a member of the Working Committee of Deputy Ministers for Public Administration Reform, the representative of the Ministry of Culture in the Academic Council, a member of the Academic Board of the Landscaping Faculty at the Mendel University of Agriculture and Forestry, Brno, the Chairman of the Prague Quadrennial 2003, a member of the Government Council for National Minorities, a member of the Interdepartmental Committee for the Affairs of the Roma Community, a member of the National Committee for Children, Young People, and the Family, a member of the Government Committee for Handicapped Citizens, a member of the Regional Development Committee (at the Ministry for Local Development), a member of the Steering and Coordination Committee for the Coordination of Assistance Supplied by the European Communities at State Level, the representative of the Ministry of Culture on the Board of Trustees of the Foundation of the Victims of the Holocaust, the Chairman of the Council for the Protection of the Cultural Landscape, and a member of the EXPO 2005 Aichi Commissioner General’s Advisory Committee. |
