Jaroslav Manda

Born in Pøíbram in 1955, he graduated from the Drama Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, specializing in the organization and management of theater companies. He first shortly worked in the Music Department of Czechoslovak Television, and then for two years in Prague’s Jiøí Wolker Theater. Between 1981–1991, he worked in the Laterna magica (Magic Lantern) Theater in Prague, being in charge of preparations and organization of trips abroad, and for publicity and promotion. He was Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the News Department in Czech Television from 1992 to 1998. He spent a research fellowship in the Austrian TV station ORF in 1995, and three years later he went on a study trip to the United States, visiting TV and radio stations in that country. During the past four years he served as General Manager of the Prague Chamber Orchestra.

In June 2003, Jaroslav Manda joined the Office of the Commissioner-General of EXPO 2005 as a musical projects manager and manager for the presentation of Czech regions.

He is married with a son. His main hobbies include theater, classical and jazz music, and traveling.
