Mgr. Vladimír DARJANIN![]() Vladimír Darjanin was born in 1960. He studied at conservatory of music and then at Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, where he completed studies in the field of opera direction and musical and dramatic television programmes. Already during his studies at university, he had the possibility to participate in practice programmes in Gyor, Hungary, in Siena, Italy, at the State Opera in Vienna and especially in Berlin at Komische Oper under the direction of Götz Friedrich and Harry Kupfer. His stay in National Theatre and Laterna Magika under the direction of prof. Josef Svoboda was very important for his artistic development. In 1992, he became a freelancer and he worked as a director on stages both in Bohemia and Slovakia and as a director and a producer for the Czechoslovak and Czech television. He also directed opera performances and documentary films. In 1994, he created the DaDa company, which was focused on production of television documentary programmes and organization of big cultural projects until 2002 when Mr. Darjanin was named the Commissioner General. His most important work is the cycle "Ten Centuries of Architecture" broadcasted for six years on the screens of the Czech TV and a new cycle devoted to paintings "The Masterpieces of Czech Collections" broadcasted from January 2002 by the Czech TV. In 1998, he founded together with Ivan Kusnjer, an opera singer, the endowment fund FATUM who is aimed at helping children of early deceased musicians and whose office is in the historical building of National Theatre. He became a general manager of an exhibition called "Ten Centuries of Architecture" organized by the DaDa company in cooperation with Administration of Prague Castle. This spectacular exhibition project took place from April to October 2001 in Prague Castle and it was visited by 155,226 spectators. In 2002, he was named by the government of the Czech Republic a Commissioner General of the Czech participants of the 2005 World Exposition in Aichi, Japan, where the Czech Republic made an extremely successful exposition called Garden of Fantasy and Music. Vladimír Darjanin is married and has three children. His hobbies are especially opera, classical music and architecture. Vladimír Darjanin is not and never was a member of any political party. |
