Commissioner General OfficeThe Commissioner General Office is responsible for the preparation and realisation of the Czech participation in EXPO 2005 Aichi. Participation at Expo 2005 is part of Czech government policy and diplomacy, one of the most high-profile expressions of state representation. The successful history of the Czech Republic's involvement at world expositions is my motivation as I seek to ensure that Expo 2005 is another key milestone in the presentation of Czech culture in the world," says Commissioner General Vladimír Darjanin of his personal and working goals. History of The Commissioner General OfficeIn November 2001 the Czech Government accepted the official invitation from Japan to participate in the 2005 World Exposition in Aichi, Japan. On 16. January 2002 The Government of the Czech Republic appointed Vladimír Darjanin the Commissioner General for Czech Participation at Expo 2005 Aichi. In April 2002 the operations of the Expo 2005 Aichi planning unit were renewed. On 17 June 2002 the Commissioner General Office officially launched its activities. At the Cabinet meeting held on 3 March 2003, the Government of the Czech Republic approved the draft concept and budget for the Czech Republic's participation at the 2005 World Exposition in Aichi between 25 March and 25 September 2005, as proposed by Cyril Svoboda, the Czech Foreign Minister, and by Vladimír Darjanin, the Commissioner General for the Czech Republic’s participation at EXPO. On 19 May 2003, the government of the Czech Republic approved the ideological plan for the Czech Republic to take part in EXPO 2005 Aichi. |
