RNDr. Jan Zahradník Born 23. 3. 1949 in České Budějovice
Education: Grammar school in České Budějovice 1972 graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics
of the Charles University in Prague, major in teaching of mathematics and physics.
Employment:
1972 - 1992 high-school teacher, Grammar school, České Budějovice. 1992 - 2000 co-owner and director of a private Czech-English grammar
school in České Budějovice. from 2000 the first Chief Executive Officer of the Regional
Authority of the Jihočeský region.
Political activity:
1989 RNDr. Jan Zahradník was the founding member of the Teacher's Citizen's
Forum (CF) in the Jihočeský region. 1990 entered the politics as a candidate of the CF party and a member
of the City Council of České Budějovice. 1992 joined the Civic Democratic Party (CDP) 1994, 1998, 1999 successful candidate for the CDP in municipal elections 2000 CDP candidate for the post of the Chief Executive Officer of the Regional
Authority in the Jihočeský region in the first regional elections.
Personal data:
Married since 1975, his wife Jana is a high-school teacher (history, philosophy) and since 2001 the director
of the Czech-English grammar school in České Budějovice. They have two daughters.
