Libor Lukáš![]() The 44-year old Libor Lukáš comes from Rudice near Uherský Brod and lives in Pitín, a village at the foot of the White Carpathians. He graduated from a construction-oriented secondary school and worked as a site foreman. In the 1980s, he worked at the Bojkovice people's committee. After the Velvet Revolution, he got involved in politics, became the secretary at the Bojkovice town hall, and became a member of the ODS party. He decided to leave the town administration in 1993 and started his own business.
In the fall of 2000, he decided to run for election in the regional government. He was elected as a member of the Regional
Board and then became the Regional Governor's statutory deputy. In the regional elections in 2004, running as ODS leader
in the Zlín region, he was elected as governor of the Zlín regional government. He and his wife Iva, who works
in the banking sector, have two sons.
